Yarding 3366 Change 1111

A fair panel of export buyers was present, however in line with most other markets one major export processor was absent from the buying panel.

The regular feed trade buyers were in attendance and active, plus a good line up of restockers.

Local and interstate restockers provided much stronger support across the light weight lines of yearling steers and heifers and lifted average prices by 11c to 16c/kg.

Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 12c to 18c/kg better. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed lifted in price by 2c/kg.

Medium and heavy weight yearling heifers to feed generally sold to a stronger market. However most classes of cows to export processors sold to a cheaper trend with losses of 13c to 16c/kg, while cows returning to the paddock experienced fair demand for the quality penned.

Yearling steers under 200kg made to a top of 556.2c to average 483c/kg. Yearling steers under 280kg averaged 464c and made to 514.2c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged 404c to 419c with occasional sales to 450c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 400c to average 384c/kg.

Yearling heifers under 200kg were well supplied and averaged 434c and made to 464c/kg. Yearling heifers under 280kg averaged 430c and made to 466.2c with one consignment of 280 head purchased by interstate restockers at an average of 446.2c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 390c to 402c and made to 411.2c/kg. A few medium weights to the trade made to 414.2c/kg.

Medium weight plain condition cows returning to the paddock averaged 267c and made to 280c/kg. Medium weight 2 scores to processors averaged 253c and 3 scores 266c/kg. Good heavy cows averaged 278c with sales to 285c/kg.

Heavy bulls made to 291c/kg.
