Overall quality was generally good, with a large consignment of cows bullocks and bulls from Burke in New South Wales included in the line up.

A full panel of export processors was present and operating, plus the usual feeder and trade buyers. However restocker presents and activity was not as strong as the previous week. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock were noticeably cheaper.

Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged 17c/kg less and more in places. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed lost 5c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock or background sold to a market 22c/kg cheaper. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed eased in price by 12c to 22c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed experienced very little change in price.

A large selection of bullocks averaged 10c/kg cheaper.

Cows sold to a slightly easier trend with the largest samples averaging 2c to 6c/kg less. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to a top of 648.2c, however the largest numbers averaged 519c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the mystic market averaged from 465c to 478, with the occasional sale to 510c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 450c to average 430c/kg.

A large selection of light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock or background averaged 485c, with an isolated sale to 548c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 440.2c to average 411c/kg.

A relatively large sample of predominantly 6 and 8 tooth bullocks made to 365c to average 356c/kg. Plain condition cows to restockers made to 293.2 to average 275c/kg. Good heavy weight cows to export processors were well supplied and made to 306c to average 297c/kg. One consignment of 93 light weight bulls made to 449c, with some small lots making to 494c/kg.

Heavy weight bulls made to 328c/kg.

There was a good attendance today of buyers to cover all categories except re-stockers, not as many in attendance as last week. Younger cattle were slightly cheaper with the quality not as good as previous weeks. Heavy processed cattle and feeders were solid.
