A fair panel of buyers was present and operating across all classes.

Mixed quality young cattle came forward in large numbers, along with a small selection of heavy grown steers and bullocks, and a relatively large sample of cows. A large number of light weight yearling steers were penned and buyers absorbed the large supply plus lifting average prices by a further 8c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 9c better and heavy weights gained 1c to 7c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers varied in price according to quality, and medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 3c dearer and more in places. Light weight poor condition cows to restockers experienced strong demand. However, the medium weight 2 scores to processors averaged 8c cheaper, and good heavy cows decreased 14c to 17c/kg.

Steer calves returned to the paddock at an average of 285c with sales to 312.2c, and heifer calves averaged 216c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed sold to 306.2c to average 284c and the better lines averaged 296c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged in the mid 280c range and made to 304.2c/kg.
