Beef Central 24/06/2021

Yarding 2957 Change 109

There was a small increase in supply to 2,957 head at Dalby.

Export buyer attendance was not as good as the previous week, however the regular feed and trade buyers were in attendance and active in the market, along with local and interstate restockers. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock were well supplied, and experienced some quality related price changes.

However all classes of yearling steers to feed improved in price, to average 10c to 15c/kg better.

Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock or background sold to very solid demand. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed for the domestic market averaged up to 14c/kg dearer. A handful of bullocks could not maintain the levels of the previous week.

The standard of the cows returning to the paddock was boosted by a large run of PTIC lines, resulting in average prices improving by over 30c/kg. Cows to export processors remained very close to the previous weeks level. Light weight yearling steers under 200kg made to 680c to average 612c/kg. Yearling steers under 280kg averaged 555c and sold to a top of 624c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 472c to 522c with the occasional sale to 554c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to an isolated 508c with a good sample averaging 462c/kg. L

ight weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock made to 638c to average 524c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed averaged 454c and made to 540c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 456c to average 419c/kg. A handful of bullocks made to a top of 360c to average 347c/kg.
