Yarding 3921 Change -2126
Useful falls of rain over the local supply areas reduced the number of cattle at Dalby by 2,126 head to 3,921.
The export buying panel included some southern processors however one major Queensland exporter was absent from the buying panel.
The regular feed and trade buyers plus restockers were present and active in the market. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock were cheaper however the excellent lineup of the previous week were absent.
Most other classes sold to a firm to dearer trend. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed were noticeably dearer. All classes of cows were in demand with average prices 15c to 20c/kg better. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 406c with the largest numbers from 376c to 388c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 395c to average 382c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 395c with a good sample from 359c to 380c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers to restockers averaged 293c and made to 315c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 350c to average from 304c to 312c/kg. A good sample of heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 355c to average 329c/kg. A small selection of bullocks made to 356c to average 354c/kg. Heavy weight export heifers made to 348c to average 338c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows made to 267c and averaged 255c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 287c and the best of the heavy weight cows made to 318c a good sample averaging 310c/kg.
