Included in the lineup were 1,190 head from Far Western Queensland, plus 553 from New South Wales, and the balance from the local supply area containing one large consignment of 464 head.

A full panel of export processors were present and operating, as well as the usual feed and trade buyers, plus local and interstate restockers.

Most classes sold to a dearer trend and in places lifted to reach new high levels.

Light weight yearling steers and heifers returning to the paddock improved by 13c to 23c/kg. The heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 7c better, while yearling heifers to feed averaged 29c to 43c/kg dearer. Heavy grown steers to export processors sold to a dearer trend. A large supply of cows also to export processors improved in price by 4c to 7c/kg. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 778c to average 667c/kg.

Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 566c to 604c with sales to a top of 645c, with some to restockers reaching 670c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 584c to average 508c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background made to 676c with a large selection averaging 621c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed averaged from 502c to 577c with sales to 618c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 500c to average 467c, with some to the wholesale meat trade reaching 504c/kg.

Heavy grown steers to export processors averaged 434c, with the occasional pen to the supermarket trade reaching a new high level of 464c/kg to return $2,723/head. A good sample of bullocks made to 448c to average 429c/kg. Medium weight plain condition cows returning to the paddock made to 366c to average 355c/kg.

The best of the good heavy weight cows to export processors made to 401c with a large sample averaging 391c/kg.

Heavy weight bulls made to 392c/kg

Full panel of buyers today, with an increase of 1754 head of cattle. Dalby saw a very dear market today, which is shown in the highlights. There were plenty of yearling steers & heifers making over $2000.
