Guest Author, 04/11/2021

Yarding 3711 Change -2163

The supply of stock reduced by 2,163 head down to 3,711 at Dalby.

Small consignments from South Australia and New South Wales, plus 626 head from far Western Queensland were included in the lineup. A full panel of export processors were present and operating in a generally dearer market.

The regular feeder operators and local and interstate restockers were also very keen to purchase stock and lifted average prices in places.

Very light weight yearling steers to restockers were noticeably dearer. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 3c to 5c dearer, however heavy weights averaged over 20c/kg better.

Yearling heifers to feed were in demand and average prices lifted by 25c to 26c/kg. A relatively small selection of bullocks to export processors improved by 3c/kg.

A good supply of cows sold to a dearer trend to average 5c to 11c/kg better.

Yearling steers under 280kg returning to the paddock made to 764c with a large sample averaging 642c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 571c to 607c with sales to 636c/kg. A good sample of heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 550c to average 530c/kg.
