Yarding 5380 Change 949
A full panel of export processors was present and operating, along with the usual feed and trade buyers, plus local and interstate restockers.
Despite the increase in numbers buyers were able to absorb the larger supply plus lift average prices on a number of classes. Interstate and local restockers pushed prices on light weight young cattle to new high levels. Yearling steers to feed continued to climb in price with heavy weight yearling steers averaging 10c/kg better.
Most classes of yearling heifers to feed also improved in price. A larger supply of bullocks were in demand and prices experienced some small improvements.
Cows generally sold to a dearer trend with average prices lifting by 2c to 5c/kg.
Yearling steers under 200kg made to 632.2c with a large sample averaging 556c/kg. Yearling steers under 280kg made to 560c with a very large selection averaging 486c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 437c to 460c with the occasional sale to 486.2c/kg.
