Export buyer attendance was generally good however not all made purchases.

The usual feed and trade buyers were also present and active, along with local and interstate restockers.

Despite the harsh seasonal conditions locally, light weight yearling steers and heifers continued to experience very strong support from restockers both local and interstate.

Yearling steers and heifers to feed for the domestic market sold to strong demand for the quality penned. Cows to restockers and export processors sold to within a few cents of the previous week’s level. Yearling steers under 200kg made to 630c, with a fair sample averaging 542c/kg. Yearling steers under 280kg made to 546c with a very large selection averaging 472c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 427c to 443c with the occasional sale to 480c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 412c and made to 418c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers were well supplied and made to 548c to average 449c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed averaged from 386c to 419c with sales to 434c/kg. Heavy grown steers and bullocks averaged 345c and sold to a top of 347c/kg. Grown heifers PTIC averaged 359c and made to 366c/kg. Medium weight plain condition cows returning to the paddock averaged 274c and made to 286c/kg. Good heavy weight cows to export processors made to the occasional 295c with a fair sample averaging 287c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 340c/kg.
