The trend of a large supply of cows continued, along with a relatively small sample of heavy grown steers and bullocks, and a good supply of yearling steers and heifers.

Buyer attendance was generally good and included southern processors, as well as the usual buying panel.

An increase in quality combined with stronger competition from restockers improved prices on steer calves by close to 50c/kg.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock also sold to a stronger trend, averaging 11c/kg dearer.

The better quality line up of medium weight yearling steers to feed increased in price by 18c/kg, and heavy weight yearling steers to feed experienced a small improvement in price. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background averaged 15c/kg dearer.

Good quality medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged over 20c/kg dearer. Heavy grown steers and bullocks sold to very strong demand to improve in price from 1c to 4c/kg. Most classes of cows increased in price with medium weight 2 scores returning to the paddock gaining 10c, and good heavy cows to export processors averaged 13c/kg dearer. Steer calves returning to the paddock made to 318c, averaging 282c, and heifer calves made to 230c, to average 192c/kg.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 310c, to average 268c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed made to 326c in pen lots to average 293c, and heavy weight yearling steers to feed also sold to 326c, averaging 297c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers predominantly sold at 215c ,with sales to 236c/kg. The largest sample of medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 234c, and the better lines averaged 278c and made to 280c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 273c, and local trade lines made to 292c, to average 275c/kg.

Heavy grown steers to export processors sold to 319c to average 310c, with bullocks making to 317c, averaging 308c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows to processors averaged 178c and made to 192c, while those returning to the paddock sold to 195c, to average 185c/kg. The best of the medium weight cows made to the occasional 260c to average 242c/kg. A large sample of good heavy cows sold to 252c to average 241c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to a top of 279c/kg.
