Yarding 4003 Change +2280
Good falls of rain over the supply area had no effect on cattle numbers at Dalby as producers took advantage of recent price improvements.
A full panel of export buyers was present and similar to the previous week not all were operating. The regular feed and trade plus restocker buyers were in attendance and active.
The market responded to the rain with light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock lifting in price by over 70c/kg. Yearling steers and heifers to feed improved by 40c to 50c/kg. Bullocks to export processors averaged 17c/kg better.
Medium weight plain condition cows to restockers averaged 19c/kg dearer.
However heavy weight cows to export processors could not maintain the improved levels of the previous week and averaged 8c to 10c/kg less.
Light weight yearling steers under 200kg made to 440c while the under 280kg lines made to 430c to average 390c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 340c to 366c with sales to 392c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to an isolated 342c to average 320c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock made to 332c with a good sample at 297c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged from 309c to 314c with sales to 326c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 320c to average 273c/kg. Bullocks made to 307c to average 291c and full mouth bullocks made to 267c/kg.
Medium weight cows to restockers made to 202c to average 194c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows to processors averaged 207c and good heavy weight cows made to 235c to average 219c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 270c/kg.
