Grant Daniel Long report

Increased yarding this week in Dalby, 4168 head yarded with GDL bringing in 882 of those. The usual panel of buyers were present and operating. Overall, the market was firm to a touch better in some categories with exception being feeder steers which sold to a slightly cheaper rate for heavy feeders. Bulls held firm on last week’s prices, the better lines of cows improved with a lot of big heavy weight cows selling from 210 to 220c/kg. There weren’t a lot of bullocks to quote and heifers going to processors maintained previous prices. Lightweight cattle experienced very little change, both steers and heifers selling up to 5c/kg better for better lines. Second grade cattle experienced very little change from last week
