Grant Daniel Long Report:
The usual panel of buyers were present and active with one southern processor operating as well. Overall, the market was very similar to last week, heavy cows saw a slight increase in prices of around 5c/kg, the better pens of lightweight yearling heifers and heavy feeder heifers sold consistently at the higher end of last week’s prices. Bullocks also averaged better this week, selling around the 300c/kg mark throughout the day. A few of the changes in prices on the day were quality related, second grade cattle sold to a tough market and better lines were firm or better.
