Isolated storms across most areas, saw numbers reduced to 1500 cattle in a prime only sale. Despite a couple of good quality lines, quality was very mixed, comprising of fewer heavy bullocks, near 700 cows and many small lesser quality lines. All regular buyers were present and operating at stronger rates throughout. Cattle were drawn from Burketown to Chillagoe and south to the local area.

Yearling steers and heifers to the trade were up to 25c stronger, bullocks lifted 28c and prime cows were firm to 12c higher. Heavyweight cows lifted up to 54c/kg.

Yearling steers above 400kg to the trade averaged 418c, selling to 448c. A good sample of yearling heifers above 400kg to the trade made to 408c to average 392c/kg. Grown steers above 400kg to processors made to 406c to average 394c, heavy grown steer sold to 438c/kg. A reduced supply of grown heifers sold from 338 to 362c, isolated sales to 408c for some excellent heavy heifers.

Heavy young bullocks to export slaughter topped at 450c, most selling from 410c to 438c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows to feed averaged 311c, processor types sold to 366 to average 322c/kg. Medium weight 3 score cows reached 386c to average 368c, prime heavyweight cows topped at 410c, most sales from 362 to 406c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors made from 330c to 358c/kg.
