THE Women of Lot Feeding Group has unveiled a new committee following its recent annual general meeting near Toowoomba.
New elected office bearers are President Bec Donelly from Wonga Plains, Bowenville; Vice president Georgia Sloss, Elynx, Dalby; Secretary Amanda Moohen, Condabri Beef, Condamine and Treasurer Kym Ryan, RSA Dalby.
Other Councillors elected to the committee were Erin Gaff, Condabri Beef; Catherine Connell, Harvest Road, Moora , WA: Katrina Sperling, Sandalwood, Dalby; Shelby Green, Wainui, Dalby; and Kathleen Pain, Wonga Plains.
Subcommittee members include Taylor Pankhurst, Dunollie, Croppa Creek NSW, Maddison Searle, Wainui, Dalby and Jodi Cotter, Reflections at Cooby Dam, Geham.
Women of Lot Feeding (WOLF) is committed to empowering women in the feedlot industry through development programs, networking opportunities, and support systems, fostering growth and leadership among its members.
Twenty women also participated in the omen of WOLF IGNITE Development Program, the third edition of the program since its inception in 2019.
Margaret Harrison of Freelance Coordination and Founder of IGNITE , said Women of Lot Feeding continues to provide a vital platform for women across Australia working in feedlots and associated industries to develop their skills, network, and support each other.
“With members nationwide, programs like IGNITE attract significant interest from feedlots aiming to enhance their teams and improve their work and life environments.extended a warm welcome to the attendees, highlighting the significance of their participation and the program’s impact on their professional growth.”
Speakers included Helen Ruddy, a BMO accountant from Dalby who emphasized the importance of understanding superannuation, optimising tax returns, and the critical role of corporate governance from a financial perspective.
Liz Hudson, Lorraine Juliana, and Julieanne Caine of Darling Downs Toastmasters conducted a comprehensive “Speak with Confidence” course in which participants enhanced their skills in writing presentations, giving constructive feedback and self-assessment using Toastmasters techniques.
Tanya Hall, a Clinical Psychologist from Mindware Psychology, provided valuable insights into personality assessment, aiding participants in building and unifying their teams and learning about their role in those teams.
Kaitlyn McAllister led the outdoor team-building activities, culminating in a high ropes course that challenged participants to push their boundaries and reach new heights. This experience fostered camaraderie and personal growth among the women.
Lauren McNally’s session on “Crucial Conversations” delved into effective conflict resolution techniques. Participants learned to unpack issues causing conflicts and address them constructively, enhancing their communication skills for both professional and personal contexts.
