Animal reproduction technology company Vetoquinol is hosting the free webinar on Wednesday 7 March, from 5pm (AEDT) or 4pm (AEST).

The purpose of the webinar is to provide information to beef producers on the back of the autumn bull sales, to understand the best management of bulls to ensure good reproductive outcomes.

“Most bulls can get a cow pregnant, but we expect bulls to achieve lots of pregnancies in a relatively short period,” a Vetoquinol spokesman said.

“Many injuries, diseases, congenital abnormalities, nutrition and management issues can interfere with those expectations. This webinar presentation will cover many of these potential problems, the likely associated risks to fertility and measures that can be implemented to mitigate these risks,” he said.

After a brief stint in NZ dairy practice, presenter Dr Ben Gardiner has spent the past 36 years providing veterinary services in the NSW districts of Barraba, Bingara and Manilla.

As director of Nandewar Animal Health Services and with around 60, 000 commercial breeders and several prominent studs in the practice area, Dr Gardiner has always held a strong focus on cattle fertility. He has been heavily involved with bull fertility in the veterinary profession and during his career has delivered multiple presentations on bull related topics to his professional colleagues and cattle producers. He is a former president of the Australian Veterinary Association.
