ADOPTING a concept that is widely used in the dairy industry, Angus Australia will host a virtual “Spring Bull Night” via social media at the end of August, allowing producers to engage and source information as they make decisions for upcoming AI programs.
Similar face-to-face ‘bull nights’ are conducted in the dairy industry, where semen distributors give an overview of their latest semen list, enabling breeders to make better informed decisions regarding what bulls they use in their AI programs. The only difference with the upcoming Angus event is that it will be livestreamed via Youtube, versus a face-to-face presentation.
The inaugural event will be livestreamed from 7pm, NSW time on August 28. The live, online event will focus on the latest release Angus AI sires.
During the night, each artificial breeding organisation will present on a selection of currently available Angus AI bulls, highlighting their strengths, how they might be used in an AI program and how their progeny are performing.
The event will be livestreamed from the Angus Australia YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/AngusAustralia) with participants able to join-in at any time. The event is open to everyone however participants will require a phone, tablet or computer with internet access to view the activity. Participants will be able to ask questions of presenters during the program.
