Beef Australia 2024 stud beef nominations draw closer

Beef Central 24/10/2023

NOMINATIONS for entries in stud beef competitions at next year’s Beef Australia 2024 event in Rockhampton next May are opening soon.

Up to 30 beef breeds representing a vast spectrum of British, European, Bos Indicus, Sanga and tropically-adapted genetics are expected to compete during the two-day stud beef judging extravaganza.

The Nutrien Ag Solutions Stud Cattle Championship stands as a crown jewel within the triennial beef industry gathering.

A select judging panel will assess up to 1500 entries in six separate rings, offering a comprehensive showcase of the best seedstock in the industry.

Stud cattle judging will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday 7 and 8 May next year. A Parade Of Champions will take place on Thursday 9 May, showcasing in alphabetical order each of the 30 breeds represented.

The Interbreed Championship will immediately follow the Parade of Champions, culminating in the judging of supreme champion interbreed bull, female and exhibitors’ group.

Stud beef nominations officially open on 18 December.
