Monday at the genetics conference: 

Monday’s keynote speaker at the conference is Mike Goddard, from the University of Melbourne and DPI Victoria, who will announce ‘Beef CRC’s latest genomic predictions for BREEDPLAN – making EBVs more accurate’. The address will take place at 8.30am in building 32 at CQUniversity.  

Monday at the Showgrounds:

Gates open at 8.30 for the Labour Day Public Holiday. The highlight of the day is the Commonwealth Bank Big Beef BBQ.
Cricketing legend and Australian Year of the Farmer Ambassador Glen McGrath will be part of a four-way cook off against Queensland Agriculture Minister John McVeigh and former Masterchef contestants Jimmy Seervai and Peter Vickery.

The Trade fair will open and the Coles Kitchen cooking demonstrations will also commence.
Queensland Premier Campbell Newman will tour the grounds from 3pm onwards. 
Monday evening will feature the first performance of the Man From Snowy River – Arena Spectacular; and awards dinners for the Rabobank Beef Industry Awards and the Ruralco CRT Australian Beef Cattle Championships. 

Monday at CQLX

Judging of the Ruralco CRT Australian Beef Cattle Championships will commence at 9am at the CQLX saleyards at Gracemere.
Young Commercial Judges Competition commences – 12.30pm
Announcement of Champions and Young Commercial Judges and Competition Place Getters – 3.00pm
