Young cattle listings on online marketing platforms AuctionsPlus and Stocklive continued their upwards price trajectory this week.
On AuctionsPlus, numbers lifted 22 percent on last week to 19,451 head, as vendors continue to respond to the price trend. Despite the larger offering, the market produced an overall clearance of 83pc. The breadth of buying support across the three eastern states pointed to continued restocking demand underpinning the market, particularly for lighter calves and yearlings where the strongest price gains were recorded.
Steers were the standout category on AuctionsPlus, with all but the heaviest category for feeders +400kg showing solid double-digit gains.
Steers 200–280kg attracted a big offering of 3241 head, clearing 94pc, with prices lifting 14c to average 623c/kg, while while 280–330kg steers cleared 94pc of an offering of 2571 head, lifting 23c to average 610c.
Light steers less than 200kg offered 886 head, clearing only 76pc, with prices lifting 52c to average705c.
The 330-400kg steers cleared 93pc, averaging 599c, rising 55c week-on-week to average 599c.
Heavier steers + 400kg cleared 92pc of the offering of 861 head, averaging 535c, easing 14c.
A line of 72 Angus x Charbray steers 16-18 months averaging 431kg from Muttaburra, QLD returned 522c/kg on A+, and will travel to a buyer near Burra, SA.

Heifers
The majority of heifer weight categories also performed solidly, producing an 88pc clearance on AuctionsPlus and 100pc on Stocklive.
Light heifers less than 200kg on A+ averaged 623c, up 52c, while the 200–280kg heifers averaged 510c, up 8c. The 280–330kg heifers on A+ eased 16c to average 512c, while 330–400kg heifers lifted 27c to average 536c. Heavy heifers +400kg averaged 517c/kg.
Forty two Droughtmaster x Brahman heifers 5-8 months averaging 174kg from Cunnamulla, QLD, returned 472c/kg on A+, and will travel to a buyer near Broken Hill, NSW.
In highlights from Stocklive’s online sale platform, today’s weekly sale saw 27 NSM Angus heifers 336kg at 12-18 months from Warialda NSW make 534c/kg or $1800, while 39 Angus yearling heifers 290kg at 12-17 months, also from Warialda, made $1250.
Bidding on Stocklive was described as strong and well represented by lotfeeders, agents and producers across NSW and southern QLD.
Breeding females
Breeding females offered on AuctionsPlus this week attracted 4457 head, producing only a 60pc clearance.
Station-mated cows averaged $2543 on an 88pc clearance, while SM heifers averaged $2284, but cleared only 34pc, up $248 on the week. PTIC cows averaged $2178 with a 77pc clearance and PTIC heifers averaged $2533, clearing 57pc.
NSM cows averaged $1783/head across a 100pc clearance. Cow and calf units continued to attract strong interest with NSM cows and calves averaging $2940/pasir and SM cows and calves returning $2556/head on a 23pc clearance, up $116 on the week.
A line of 18 Angus PTIC cows 3-4 years averaging 611kg from Wymah, NSW, returned $3080 on A+ and will travel to a buyer near Kyneton, VIC.
