LOW pressure systems and associated cold fronts and troughs moved across parts of the interior and southern Australia during the week, with moderate rainfall, showers and storms resulting.
Weekly rainfall totals of 15-100 mm, with locally higher totals up to 125 mm, were recorded across Tasmania, Victoria, southern-eastern New South Wales, most of South Australia, south-western parts of the Northern Territory and parts of Western Australia’s interior and south-west.
During the week, isolated storms, some severe, and showers impacted parts of central and south-eastern Queensland.
Weekly rainfall totals of 10-50 mm were recorded across parts of central and south-eastern Queensland.
The highest weekly total (at a Bureau gauge) was 124mm at Mount Baw Baw in Victoria, which included the highest daily total of 71.8 mm in the 24 hours to 9am on 27 October.
