SOUTHERN processers were a notable buying presence as 2500 Central Australian milk and two tooth steers went up for sale at the 2025 Alice Springs Combined Agents Show Sale on Thursday.
Standout offerings included Hereford steers averaging 450kg from Undoolya Holdings which sold for up to $4.54/kg.
Among the quality lines of cattle showcased, standout consignments included 460 head of Santa cross and Charolais cross steers from Huckitta Station, 280 Droughtmaster steers from the Garden Station and 220 Santa cross steers from Pine Hill Station.
Conducted with the StockLive live interface the sale saw strong demand from local buyers and interest online.
There was great interest for regular Alice Springs buyers representing Teys Naracoorte and Teys feedlot operations at Charlton in Victoria who purchased 352 head at a top price of $4.46/kg for a line of Angus steers from Palmer Valley Station.
A significant result was the purchase of 118 head by an interstate buyer, ABLCo, a new buyer to central Australia who purchased a quality line of Santa cows offered from Sandover Pastoral.
Other large processors and feedlots were also active online from Queensland and New South Wales, including Roxborough Ag who purchased lines of feeder steers up to $1,353 per head.
The volume buyer of the sale was GDL Dalby who purchased 524 head and supported by GDL Alice Springs who also purchased 253 head.
Steve Gaff from Red Centre Rural said StockLive’s live interfaced sale platform injected considerable value into the sale, not just through bidder reach and price uplift, but through the complete delivery of sale day services.
Participating agents included Centre Ag Services, GDL Alice Springs and Red Centre Rural.
