Yarding 3690 Change +287
Numbers remained similar with a yarding of 3690. It was a fair quality yarding with large numbers of cows and their calves providing good numbers of weaners suitable for the backgrounders and restockers. There were also good numbers of young cattle to suit the trade and feeder buyers but there were only limited numbers of grown steers and heifers.
Young cattle to the trade were up to 10c dearer with prime vealers and yearlings selling from 340c to 406c/kg. Feeder steers were 10c to 15c dearer while the feeder heifers were 20c/kg dearer. Feeder steers sold from 362c to 420c while the feeder heifers sold from 310c to 370c/kg. The good numbers of young cattle to the restockers were 10c to 20c dearer with the young steers selling to 474c and the young restocker heifers sold to 380c/kg.
Grown steers and heifers finished 16c to 30c dearer with the prime grown steers selling from 373c to 410c while the prime grown heifers sold from 330c to 380c/kg. Despite the talk of tariffs cows were firm to 5c dearer with the 2 and 3 scores selling from 238c to 325c while the prime heavy weight cows sold from 307c to 348c to average 332c/kg. Bulls were 12c cheaper selling to 344c/kg.
