Qld national park stock stealing investigation

Investigators from the Queensland's Stock and Rural Crime Investigation Squad (SARCIS) have issued a Notice to Appear to two people following the theft of stock and other offences committed on Idalia National Park, west of Blackall in the State's Central West.

Following a referral from QueenslandParks and Wildlife Service (QPWS), investigators from SARCIS executed a search warrant at Idalia National Park.

A search warrant was also executed on two properties in the Blackall area. A number of cattle were seized by SARCIS officers and investigations are continuing.

A 50-year-old woman, a ranger of the park and a 72-year-old man have been issued a Notice to Appear relating to fraud and other stock related offences. They will appear in the Blackall Magistrates Court on the May 26, 2014.

SARCIS investigators are working closely with QPWS on the investigation following the referral.

Investigators are not able to comment further as the matters are now before the court.
