Roma Store 7 May 2013: Light steers to 183c

Weekly Roma Store Cattle Sale press report: 

A total of 9369 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 183c/kg and averaged 147c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 177c/kg and averaged 146c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 174c/kg and averaged 146c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 165c/kg and averaged 145c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 160c/kg and averaging 145c/kg.

Golden Grazing, Potters Flat, Yuleba, sold Cross Bred steers to 177c/kg for 253kg to return $449/head and 171c/kg for 303kg to make $519/head.

The Cooke family, Turana, Meandarra, sold Simmental-cross steers to 174c for 310kg to return $540.

Goodwood Pastoral Co, Lucknow Station, Boulia, sold Santa-cross steers to 174c for 218kg to make $380. They also sold Santa-cross heifers to 135c for 240kg to return $324.  

The Pampling family, Derbyshire Downs, Augathella, sold Charolais steers to 166c for 296kg to return $492 and 163c for 348kg to make $569.

Walker & Co, Transey, Winton, sold Santa steers to 166c for 203kg to make $338.

The Burey family, Springhill, Amby, sold Hereford steers to 165c for 300kg to return $497. They also sold Charolais-cross heifers to 133c for 226kg to make $301.

The Rolfe family, Nindinna, Roma, sold Charolais-cross steers to 165c for 257kg to return $425.

The Cowper family, Merino Downs, Aramac, sold Santa steers to 164c for 243kg to return $399.

Perrett Cattle Co, Tunis, Injune, sold Charolais steers to 163c for 284kg to make $463. They also sold Charolais heifers to 131c for 248kg to return $325. 

The Russell family, Willara, Augathella, sold Charolais steers to 160c for 296kg to make $474.

The Pether family, Roseneath Station, Longreach, sold Charolais-cross steers to 157c for 367kg to make $577 and Charolais-cross steers to 151c for 467kg to return $706. 

John Crook-King, Pendine Station, Barcaldine, sold Santa-cross steers to 156c for 400kg to make $625.

The Mackay family, Beau View, Wallumbilla, sold Charolais steers to 154c for 538kg to return $830.

Dale Scott, Mayfield, Roma, sold Angus-cross steers to 152c for 322kg to make $490.

Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 140c/kg and averaged 125c/kg.

Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 143c/kg and averaged 124c/kg.

Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 146c/kg and averaged 126c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 140c/kg and averaged 115c/kg.

The Otto family, Charlton Bank, Roma, sold Cross Bred to 140c for 353kg to make $495.

Springdale Land & Cattle Co, Springdale, Aramac, sold Charolais-cross heifers to 137c for 354kg to return $486.

Ball & Co, Rothbury Park, Niela, sold Droughtmaster heifers to 133c for 305kg to make $403.

The Owens family, Arranmore, Longreach, sold Santa heifers to 131c for 381kg to return $501.

Cows over 500kg hit 117c/kg and averaged 104c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at 111c/kg and averaged 91c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 92c/kg and averaged 69c/kg.

Bulls up to 400kg reached 159c/kg and average 135c/kg.
