Yarding 4079 Change 2164
The supply of stock almost doubled the previous week’s level to 4079 head. A full panel of buyers was present, with some additional interstate operators included in the line up.
The forecast of some rain lifted prices across most classes.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 23c/kg dearer. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 5c/kg dearer and heavy weights sold to very solid demand.
Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background improved in price by 28c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed and the trade averaged up to 30c better and heavy weights to the trade and feed gained 16c to 18c/kg.
However, all classes of cows were noticeably dearer with gains of 15c to 32c/kg.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 282c and made to 308c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed made to 318c to average 300c/kg. Heavy weights to feed made to 308c to average 299c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers averaged 233c with sales to 256c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made a 298c, with a large number averaging 283c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 264c, and local trade lines made to 285c to average 274c/kg. Very poor light weight cows to processors averaged 90c, and restocker classes averaged 132c/kg.
Medium weight poor condition lines returning to the paddock averaged 170c and made to 189c/kg. Medium weight 2 scores to processors averaged 196c and made to 207c/kg. Good heavy cows made 259c with a fair sample at 250c/kg.
Heavy bulls made 295c/kg.

A total of yarding of 4079 head of cattle were yarded in Dalby today with GDL yarding 2039 of those. Generally across the board the market was dearer in all categories.
