Numbers increased by 18pc and there was a few more bullocks and cows from western districts included in the line-up.

A fair panel of export slaughter and feeder buyers was present and most were operating, however there was less restocker support on the light weight yearling heifers.

Light weight yearling steers to restockers were cheaper in places, however managed to finish the day with average prices marginally better.

Most of the medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed experienced very little change in price. A lift in the quality of the heavy grown steers and bullocks saw average prices improve. Most of the cows generally sold close to the previous week level, however a lift in the quality of the good heavy cows resulted in average prices gaining 2c/kg.

A large selection of mixed sex calves sold to restockers to average 340c with some steer calves to 382.2c/kg. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock mostly sold around 344c with some to 370.2c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 337c and made to 358.2c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold around 316c with sales to the occasional 330c/kg. A very large supply of light weight yearling heifers averaged 303c and sold to 328.2c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 304c and made to 315.2c/kg. A relatively small supply of heavy weight yearling heifers sold to feeder operators at 285c while some well bred lines sold to the local meat trade at 314.2c/kg.

Bullocks mostly sold around 287c with some to 296.2c while full mouth classes averaged 274c and made to 281.2c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 207c and made to 213c/kg. Good heavy cows generally sold around 230c with an isolated sale to 243.2c/kg. Heavy bulls made to 257.2c/kg.
