Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association (NTCA) Chief Executive Officer Tracey Hayes has been named one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence for 2016.

The annual list, now in its fifth year, is compiled by the Australian Financial Review.

It aims to “identify and celebrate bold, energetic women who capture the spirit of progress, helping shape a vibrant, inclusive, economic and social future for Australia”.

Tracey Hayes is a well-known face in Australia’s cattle industry. The mother of four and business owned became the first female Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Territory Cattleman’s Association in 2014, which represents the $1 billion NT cattle industry.

NT Primary Industries and Resources Minister, Ken Vowles, said Ms Hayes worked hard to make sure the Territory cattle industry remained profitable and sustainable.

“Tracey’s passion for the Territory cattle industry is exceptional,” Mr Vowles said.

“While I know that Tracey doesn’t strive for recognition, this is a very proud achievement and well deserved.”

Tracey was nominated by Australian Agricultural Company (AACo), Australia’s largest integrated cattle and beef producer, which operates properties and an abattoir on the outskirts of Darwin.
