A vigorous low pressure system crossed the south-east, bringing widespread showers and rain, local thunderstorms, some minor riverine flooding in Tasmania and northern Victoria, and coastal flooding in Victoria during high tides.
Weekly rainfall totals of 25 to 150 mm, and locally higher, were recorded in large parts of southern South Australia, Victoria, southern New South Wales and Tasmania.
Cold fronts swept through south-western Western Australia with light rainfall. Weekly rainfall totals of 5 to 15 mm were recorded in this region.
The highest weekly total (at a Bureau gauge) of 151.7 mm was recorded at Falls Creek (Rocky Vally) in Victoria.
The highest daily total (at a Bureau gauge) of 84.2 mm was recorded at Wilsons Promontory Lighthouse, Victoria, in the 24 hours to 9 am on 4 June.
