EXPORT and domestic beef processor Bindaree Food Group is hosting a Queensland Producer Roadshow later this month, giving Central Queensland producers the chance to hear direct from the Bindaree livestock team, market specialists and guest speakers.

The events (full details below) will happen at Taroom, Blackall, Clermont and Springsure.

Over four half-day events between 29 June and 3 July, the program will provide practical insights on markets, carcase performance and animal health, including what processors are looking for in cattle over the next 12–18 months.

During the series, producers will hear from a mix of speakers including:

• Bindaree Food Group chief executive Andrew McDonald on the global trade environment
• Livestock nutrition specialist Desiree Jackson on optimising returns through targeted nutrition
• ProFeedlot Vets Drs Jemma Postle & Alyse Wood on setting cattle up for success in the feedlot, and
• Clermont Veterinary Surgery’s Dr Nick Myers on tick clearance and related protocols.

Each session will include time for questions and an opportunity for local producers to connect with the Bindaree livestock team one-on-one over a complimentary light lunch.

“Our business only works because of the producers who back us year in, year out,” Bindaree’s livestock general manager Zac McInerney said.

“These roadshow events are about listening, being up-front about what we’re seeing in the market, and hopefully sending people home with one or two practical ideas they can put to work on their own operation.”

Topics will include livestock procurement and pricing signals, carcase feedback and data, animal health and compliance, and how producers can position their operations to capture value in a changing market.
