The Australian Agricultural Company (AACo), is making a major move to build the global profile of its premium beef portfolio, announcing Darling Downs Pure Australian Wagyu as the exclusive branded beef partner of the highly anticipated Warner Bros. Discovery’s MasterChef Asia, which premieres this month.
The partnership places one of AA Co’s premium Wagyu brands at the centre of the successful reality competition, which will be watched by households across South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Japan and the Middle East.
Darling Downs Wagyu will be featured throughout the season through product integration and culinary challenges along with dedicated recipe content on Darlings Downs digital channels.
For AACo, the high-profile partnership is a tangible expression of its Better Beef strategic pillar in action, building premium beef brands that command preference, earn trust and create long-term value in global markets.
AA Co Managing Director and CEO, David Harris, said the partnership demonstrated how the company was connecting its integrated supply chain and production expertise with an ambitious approach to global brand building.
“Our integrated supply chain gives us a unique foundation, providing control from breeding and production through to final product. Creating long-term value also requires building meaningful brands and strong connections with consumers,” Mr Harris said.
“This partnership takes Darling Downs Wagyu into the homes, kitchens and food culture of many people across Asia.
“It’s a powerful example of how AACo is leveraging its integrated supply chain, global distribution footprint and focused brand building efforts to grow demand around the world.”
The revamped MasterChef Asia series brings together international culinary talent from across Asia in a 10-episode competition filmed in Macao, a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
It will air across TLC, Discovery and be streamed on HBO Max across Southeast Asia.
“Australian agriculture has many powerful stories to tell. We are pleased this partnership places Australian beef at the centre of conversations about premium food, culinary excellence and home cooking inspiration throughout the Asian region – one of the world’s fastest-growing premium food markets,” Mr Harris said.
The program will showcase Australian Wagyu in premium cooking environments, judged by some of Asia’s most respected culinary personalities and prepared by talented cooks representing diverse food cultures from across the region.
Through the partnership, viewers will see the versatility of premium Australian Wagyu across cuisines and cooking styles, giving home cooks the confidence to elevate everyday meals with restaurant-quality results.
The return of MasterChef Asia comes at a time when consumer demand for premium ingredients, food provenance and exceptional culinary experiences is continuing to grow.
This makes it a natural platform for Darling Downs Wagyu to connect with audiences across the region, where appetite for premium beef is accelerating.
Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) reported that since the start of 2026, the demand for Australian beef in Hong Kong has grown +11.2 per cent year on year, and in Korea, annual growth has reached +39.9pc versus year ago (source: DAFF, to end of June 2026).
Demand for higher quality is also evident, with the MLA’s Global Consumer Tracker capturing that 62pc of Hong Kong shoppers list premium/better quality meat as their top priority when shopping for red meat, compared to a global average of 48pc.
“Asia is a key growth market for beef. We believe partnerships like MasterChef Asia, help showcase the quality, provenance and innovation behind our industry, while reinforcing Australia’s reputation as a producer of outstanding food for a new generation of consumers around the globe,” Mr Harris said.
