Second Wagyu commercial cattle online sale slated for launch

Beef Central 28/10/2026

One of the feature lots in last week’s inaugural Stocklive Wagyu commercial sale were these 191 Purebred Wagyu feeder steers from Fucheng Australia, Westmar, Queensland. Averaging 358kg at 20-23 months, they sold for 662c/kg to a prominent Wagyu lotfeeder and beef exporter.

A SECOND monthly Wagyu and Wagyu infused commercial online cattle sale platform has been launched, just a week after a similar platform held its first sale.

Up to now, Wagyu and Wagyu infused commercial cattle occasionally get sold in routine weekly sales on online platforms, but have tended to get buried among the mass of conventional breed sale entries without any particular focus on ‘Wagyu.’

Results have often been well below equivalent Wagyu paddock sale prices.

Last Thursday, Beef Central wrote about the industry’s first-ever dedicated commercial Wagyu online sale, conducted by online marketing service provider StockLive.

That sale produced a total clearance of almost 400 head, comprising feeders, backgrounders, weaners and cows and calves, ranging from F1s to purebreds. The eight lots sold attracted close to 20 registered bidders, with up to 30 bids logged on some lines. Buyers ranged from backgrounders and restockers to feedlots.

This week, competitor AuctionsPlus has announced plans for its own monthly online Wagyu commercial sale, in association with Wagyu genetics service provider Premium Bovine Solutions.

The AuctionsPlus sale will cater for Fullblood, Purebred, F1 and other Wagyu-cross cattle, along with Angus and Angus-cross cattle suited to F1 premium beef breeding programs, according to a statement. Angus females joined to Wagyu and cattle bred for exceptional carcase traits are also encouraged.

George Lubbe from Premium Bovine Solutions

PBS’s managing director George Lubbe said the sale was designed to connect Wagyu and premium beef cattle producers with buyers across Australia.

Presenting each offering’s genetics, production history and available performance data would be central to the sale process.

“Premium cattle deserve a clear story. Genetics, breeding history, production performance and market suitability all help buyers understand what they are buying,” he said.

“We know the importance of communicating that information clearly. Our role is to help producers explain the strengths of their livestock and connect them with suitable buyers nationally.”

Mr Lubbe said the initiative would build on PBS’s work marketing Wagyu and Wagyu-cross cattle across the country.

No dates have yet been announced for AuctionsPlus’s proposed monthly Friday sale, however expressions of interest have been called for across breeding females, cows and calves, backgrounders, feeders and slaughter cattle and bulls.

“Together, PBS and AuctionsPlus bring complementary strengths to the partnership: specialist cattle knowledge and relationships, supported by an established online auction network and national audience,” the statement said.
