Yarding 7796 Change +2066

NLRS Commentary:

Roma Agents yarded 7796 head and increase of 2000 head on the previous sale. The yarding was mixed in quality with some light weaners showing the effects of the dry conditions as well as more store cows penned. All the regular buyers attending but selective in their bidding. The market strengthened as the sale progressed.

Yearling steers under 200kg selling from 350c to 430c for the plainer types and the better pens selling to 540c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg topping 586c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling steers 280 to 330kg sold from 422c to 586c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling steers 330 to 400kg with the restockers selling from 380c to 554c/kg for the better pens. Yearling steers 400 to 480kg sold to 542c to backgrounders and 536c/kg to Lot Feeders.

Yearling heifers under 200kg selling from 344c to 402c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling heifers 200 to 280kg with the restockers selling to 460c with the plainer types selling from 300c to 340c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg improved almost 50c/kg to make 440c/kg to Lot Feeders. Yearling heifers 330 to 400kg sold from 376c to 476c to Lot Feeders and 490c/kg to restockers. Yearling heifers 400 to 480kg sold from 390c to 480c/kg to Lot Feeders.

Grown steers 400 to 500kg sold 540c/kg to Lot Feeders. Grown steers 500 to 600kg selling from 472c to 490c/kg to Lot Feeders. Bullocks over 600kg topping 492c/kg to processors. Heavy heifers over 540kg made to 436c to processors to average 418c/kg.

A good run of prime cows penned. The better score 3 and score 4 cows topped 404c/kg to processors. The 2 score cows 400 to 520kg sold from 254c to 366c to processors with the plainer cows back to the paddock selling to 280c/kg. Bulls over 600kg selling to 452c/kg to processors.
