NLRS Commentary:

With isolated showers over the past week and the prospect of more to come, Roma Agents had a substantially reduced numbers to 4,692 head a reduction of 4,800 head for the weekly sale. A mixed quality yarding presented. All the regular buyers attending and active also with extra southern support operating. The market could be 20 to 30c/kg dearer for steers, heifers similar and prime cows slightly stronger 5c to 10c/kg on the previous sale.

Yearling steers under 200kg sold from 400c for the plainer types to 614c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg selling from 368c to 616c/kg for the better pens to backgrounders. Yearling steers 280 to 330kg sold to 592c/kg to average 551c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling steers 330 to 400kg sold from 400c to 548c Lot Feeders and 556c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling steers 400 to 480kg made from 440c to 548c to backgrounders and 540c/kg Lot feeders. Yearling steers over 480kg selling to 520c to Lot Feeders to average 512c/kg.

Yearling heifers under 200kg sold from 400c to 520c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling heifers 200 to 280kg selling from 326c 420c topping 528c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg sold to 466c to Lot Feeders and 320c to 444c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling heifers 330 to 400kg sold from 388c to 480c/kg to Lot Feeders. Yearling heifers 400 to 480kg made to 468c/kg to processors. Yearling heifers over 480kg selling to 454c/kg to backgrounders.

Grown steers 400 to 500kg made to 512c/kg to Lot Feeders. Grown steers 500 to 600kg made to 524c Lot Feeders and 486c/kg to backgrounders. Bullocks over 600kg sold to a dearer trend to make to 502c/kg to processors. Grown heifers over 540kg made to 460c/kg to processors.

A complementary draft of cows penned. The score 3 and 4 cows topped 413c to average 387c/kg to processors. The 2 score cows 400 to 520kg sold from 250c to 378c/kg to processors. Bulls over 600kg. Sold to 454c to processors to average 437c/kg.
