Yarding 1640 Change +690
1640 cattle were scanned in Gunnedah this week an increase of 690 from a week ago. It was a better quality yarding again of predominately yearling and weaner cattle. All major buyers competed in a mostly dearer market.
Prime yearling cattle to the trade were limited and made to 529c/kg. Yearling steers to feed were well supplied and 8c dearer to make between 556c and 632c/kg while the heifers ranged between 530c and 594c/kg.
Light steers to the restocker held firm to make between 550c and 648c/kg. Light heifers to the restocker were 15c better to make between 500c and 578c/kg.
Prime grown cattle to the processor made from 430c to 538c/kg. 2 and 3 score cows to the processor were cheaper on quality. 2 score cows made from 340c to 350c/kg 3 score cows made from 368c to 384c/kg.
Prime heavy weight cows improved by 5c to make from 392c to 420c/kg. Cows going back to the paddock made from 370c to 410c/kg and the best bulls got to 400c/kg.
