Yarding 2100 Change +460
2100 cattle were scanned in Gunnedah an increase of 460 from the previous week. It was a fair quality yarding of predominately yearling and weaner cattle with limited pens of prime cattle on offer. Most major buyers were present for an overall cheaper market.
Prime yearling cattle to the trade topped at 544c/kg. Yearling steers to feed were 15c cheaper and ranged between 538c and 650c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed were considerably cheaper to make between 486c and 580c to average 555c/kg. Light steers to the restocker improved on quality to make from 534c to 645c to average 604c/kg. Light heifers to the restocker held firm to top at 578c and average 545c/kg.
Prime grown cattle to the processor topped at 440c/kg. Score 2 and 3 cows to the processor improved on quality and made from 366c to 390c/kg. 4 score prime heavy weight cows were 5c cheaper and made from 390c to 415c/kg and the best bulls got to 391c/kg.
