2350 cattle were scanned in Gunnedah this week. It was a fair quality yarding of predominately yearling and weaner cattle however all grades were represented. All major buyers were present with renewed interest on some restocker cows for an overall firm market to last week.
Yearling cattle to the trade made from 382c to 496c/kg. Yearling steers to feed made from 458c to 574c to average 531c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed made from 382c to 490c and averaged 469c/kg. Light steers to the restocker made from 420c to 590c to average 535c/kg while the heifers made from 376c to 486c and averaged 442c/kg,
Prime grown cattle to the processor made from 412c to 440c/kg. 2 score cows to the processor made from 346c to 360c/kg 3 score cows made from 364c to 385c/kg. 4 score prime heavy weight cows made from 389c to 405c/kg. Restocker cows were sought after and made from 348c to 392c/kg with some young cows and calves offered as units to make $2350/head. The best of the bulls got to 400c/kg.
