Yarding 850 Change -1670
Numbers significantly decreased in Gunnedah this week to scan just 850 cattle 1650 less then the previous week. The yarding consisted predominately of better quality weaner and yearling type cattle. All major buyers were present for an overall much dearer market.
Prime cattle to the processor were limited and ranged from 440c to 506c/kg. Yearling steers and heifers to feed were both 50c dearer and more in places. The steers made between 510c and 584c to average 559c/kg. The heifers made from 450c to 564c/kg. Light cattle to the restocker were up to $1.00/kg dearer. The steers made from 526c to 600c/kg. The heifers were well supplied and made from 450c to 574c to average 546c/kg.
Cows were in short supply this week. 2 and 3 score cows to the processor made from 350 to 420c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows made from 416c to 437c/kg. Bulls lacked quality and made to 366c/kg.
