
Yarding 1222 Change -936
Following the excellent rains over the past couple of days numbers were back by 900 for a yarding of 1222. It was a fair quality yarding with a large percentage of young cattle to suit the feeders and restockers. There were also some excellent lots of well finished grain assisted grown heifers though there was only a very limited selection of cows penned.
Young cattle to the trade were around firm with prime vealers and yearlings selling from 450c to 542c/kg. Feeder steers and heifers were 6c to 8c cheaper with the feeder steers selling from 490c to 606c/kg. Feeder heifers sold from 456c to 566c/kg. Young cattle to the restockers were once again dearer with very well bred `Braford steer and heifer weaners selling for 776c/kg.
Grown steers and heifers were up to 13c dearer with prime grown steers selling to 490c while the prime grown heifers sold from 444c to 520c/kg. Cows were 15c to 18c cheaper with the 2 and 3 scores to the processors selling from 280c to 397c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows sold from 390c to 430c to average 404c /kg. Cows to the restockers were firm and sold from 370c to 392c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 430c/kg.
