Dubbo sale 16 July 2026: Young cattle cheaper as numbers lift

Numbers were back by 670 for a mixed yarding of 2310. There were good numbers of weaners to suit the restockers though there were very few young steers to suit the feeders. Prime grown steers and heifers were well supplied and there were fair numbers of cows yarded.

Young cattle to the trade were 15c cheaper with prime vealers and yearlings selling from 482c to 544c/kg. The few feeder steers yarded were close to firm while the feeder heifers were 10c to 20c/kg cheaper. Feeder steers sold from 522c to 618c while the feeder heifers sold from 486c to 558c/kg. The top prices for the young cattle to the restockers were dearer though overall young cattle to the restockers were 30c/kg cheaper. Young steers to the restockers sold to 695c to average 600c and the young heifers sold to 705c/kg.

Grown steers and heifers were up to 12c dearer with the prime grown steers selling from 428c to 492c/kg. Prime grown heifers sold from 450c to 484c/kg. Cows were 4c to 9c dearer with the 2 and 3 scores to the processors selling from 355c to 408c while the prime heavy weight cows sold from 395c to 435c to average 421c/kg. Cows to the restockers sold from 344c to 410c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 438c/kg.
