Yarding 4674 Change -827

The supply of cattle into Dalby reduced by 827 to 4674 head. Despite the decline in overall numbers the supply of cows remained close to the previous week’s high level of 1354 head. All the regular buyers were in attendance and operating and prices generally improved for most classes.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 20c to 35c/kg better. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed lifted in price by over 50c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers struggled at times however finished the day firm to marginally better. Yearling heifers to feed sold to a market 20c to 40c/kg dearer. Heavy grown steers bullocks and heifers to export processors attracted strong support. Medium weight 2 score cows sold to a dearer trend while the heavy weights were firm to 4c/kg better.
Light weight steers to restockers made to 590c and averaged from 530c to 554c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 606c with most sales 540c to 546c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to a top of 606c in pen lots with a good selection averaging 550c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock made to 495c with most making from 438c to 451c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged from 445c to 493c and made to 528c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed also made to 528c to average 476c/kg.
Heavy grown steers to export processors made to 493c to average 473c and grown heifers made to 460c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 348c and made to 362c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 382c and the best of the cows made to 441c to average 414c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 420c/kg.
