FROM the 27 to 28 May, moist onshore flow over eastern Tasmania, resulted in widespread rainfall totals of 25 mm to 50 mm and locally higher in east-facing elevated areas.

Between 28 and 30 May, a low off the east coast interacting with an inland trough, produced high rainfall in the south-east of Queensland, and in New South Wales, with weekly rainfall totals of 15 mm to locally more than 100 mm near parts of the coast.

A cold front followed by a deep low pressure system south of Western Australia, brought strong winds and showers, leading to weekly rainfall totals of 15 mm to more than 50 mm along the west coast.

During the week, cold fronts brought light to moderate rainfall across parts of south-eastern Australia, producing weekly rainfall totals between 5 mm and 50 mm, with locally higher falls, in parts of South Australia, much of Victoria into southern and inland New South Wales, and in western Tasmania.

The highest weekly total (at a Bureau gauge) of 311.4 mm was recorded at Gray (Dalmayne Rd) Tasmania, which included the highest daily total of 222.0 mm in the 24 hours to 9 am on 28 May.
