A further 2070 Australian cattle have been delivered to China this week under the growing slaughter cattle export trade.

Exporter Landmark International has been a leading exporter of dairy and beef breeding cattle to China. This consignemnt represents Landmark’s first shipment of slaughter cattle to the market.

The shipment comprised 500-550kg British, Euro and Pastoral cattle sourced from Southern Western Australia.

The cattle were loaded on the MV Ganado Express at the Port of Fremantle last month and were unloaded in China this week.

Landmark International managing director Andy Ingle said the consignment was delivered to a long-time Landmark customer.

He told Beef Central this week that the voyage went very well and the cattle arrived in excellent condition.

“Landmark sees the market continuing to evolve in the coming years and is optimistic about the additional marketing avenue it can deliver our beef producing clients in Australia with going forward.”

Landmark’s shipment takes the number of slaughter cattle exported from Australia to China since the start of November last year to almost 10,000 head.
