There was a steep reduction of 3200 head to 1126 good quality cattle at Tamworth.
Multiple buyers attended and vendors contributed from Horton Valley Moree Inverell and local areas.
Angus weaners provided the bulk of the offering along with their crosses as well as other breeds to result in a dearer trend throughout the sale.
Light Charolais weaner steers lifted $27/head and similar weight Angus steers were up to $42/head dearer selling $830 to $1290/head.Angus weaners in the 280 to 330kgs bracket were in strong demand to see a rise of $8/head to top at $1320/head. Heavy black Bos Indicus weaner steers topped the weaner market at $1510/head.
Light Angus weaner heifers under 200 kgs were up to $100/head dearer to a top price of $760/head. Light heifers were as much as $148/head better selling $790 to $1000. Charolais heifers were up to $70/head dearer. Yearling Charolais steers in excess of 400kgs topped at $1600/head and heavy Angus yearling heifers made $1410/head. The cow and calf market also held to dearer trends.
Heifers on their first calf were significantly dearer selling $1800 to $2820/unit while the mature matrons and their progeny made $1800 to $2120/unit.
Angus cows PTIC sold to $1980/head.
