Yarding 6010 Change +1212
Interim Report. Dalby Agents yarded 6,010 head. Cattle were drawn from far Western Queensland, NSW and the balance from the local supply area.
The continuing dry season was noticeable throughout the yarding and especially in the cow section.
The better lines attracted solid competition throughout.
However cows lost 7c to 12c/kg.
Medium weight yearling steers sold to 350c to average 346c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 341c and sold to 350c/kg.
Heavy weight yearling heifers to restockers made to and averaged 254c/kg.
Medium weight score 2 cows averaged 178c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 203c and made to 215c/kg.
Good heavy weight cows made to top of 230c with a good sample at 218c/kg.

Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 372c/kg and averaged 338c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 374c/kg and averaged 347c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 360c/kg and averaged 336c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 356c/kg and averaged 321c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topped at 348c/kg and averaged 325c/kg.

The Santa Gertrudis cows sold to 230c/kg, reaching a top of $1,381 to average $1,209. The Santa Gertrudis Mickey bulls sold to 306c/kg, reaching a top of $887 to average $887.
Russell Ian Mocker, Surprise, St George sold Santa Gertrudis steers to 366c/kg, reaching a top of $1,013 to average $868.
