Yarding 5600  Change   -1200

Cattle were mostly sourced from south west Queensland but included over 1000 head from northern NSW.

Overall quality improved and while light weight restocker steers eased on last week, medium weight steers and most classes of heifers saw improvements.

Heavy grown steers and good heavy cows both saw gains of 10-15c/kg. Support for light weight restocker steers could not maintain the level of last week mainly due to reduced lines, selling to 504.2c to average 448c/kg.

Restockers paid up to 404.2c for steers 330 to 400kg while feeders lifted 11c making to 410.2c to average 381c/kg. Heavy feeder steers were similar to last week selling to 382.2c averaging 355c/kg. Good quality light weight restocker heifers saw increased competition from CQ and NWQ, strengthening by 24c selling to 366.2c and averaging 335c/kg. Medium weight restocker heifers also saw good gains selling to 336.2c to average 328c/kg. Heavy feeder heifers sold to 336.2c/kg. Grown steers and heifers improved on last week with steers to 325.2c averaging 305c and heavy heifers made to 300.2c to average 280c/kg.

Medium cows sold to 265.2c and averaged 250c while heavy cows lifted 10c selling to 274.2c averaging 267c/kg. Good quality PTIC cows sold to 310.2c/kg.
