Yarding 8330 Change +736

The inclusion of several vendors selling their annual weaner turnoff increased supply by 836 head to 8,330 at Roma.

Cattle were drawn from NSW, far western QLD and the local supply area which contained several runs in excess of 450 head.

All the regular buyers along with a large panel of restockers attended and were very active on the quality yearlings offered lifting prices however the lesser quality lines received limited competition.

Heavy cows lifted in price by 3c to 9c/kg. Yearling steers in the 200-280kg range to restockers sold to 404c and average 367c with those over 280kg at 406c to average 358c/kg. Yearling steers 330-400kg to restockers made 374c with those to feed at 358c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers made 298c to average 263c with the plainer heifers at 190c to average 140c/kg. Yearling heifers over 280kg to background averaged 262c and sold to 288c/kg. Yearling heifers over 330kg made 290c to average 247c/kg.

Grown steers to processors made 274c to average 271c with those to feed at 282c/kg. Light weight cows to processors made 175c to average 165c/kg.

Good heavy score 4 cows to processors made 228c to average 217c with PTIC cows to restockers at 235c to average 233c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors made 286c to average 265c/kg.

Cows and calves sold to $1380/unit.

Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 392c/kg and averaged 375c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 404c/kg and averaged 347c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 378c/kg and averaged 329c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 406c/kg and averaged 330c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topped at 366c/kg and averaged 290c/kg.
