Yarding 6400 Change +550
Numbers increased by 550 to scan 6400 cattle in Gunnedah. It was a fair quality yarding with large numbers of cows on offer for an overall cheaper market. Young cattle to the trade increased in quality. Most major buyers were present however competition on store cows going back to the paddock was limited.
Young cattle to the trade were strong. The steers made from 405c to 515c/kg while the heifers made from 370c to 474c/kg. Feeder cattle were considerably cheaper. The steers sold from 374c to 510c/kg while feeder heifers ranged between 380c and 430c/kg. Young cattle to the restocker were also considerably cheaper with the steers making between 376c and 522c while the heifers ranged between 320c and 418c/kg.
Prime grown cattle to the processor were dearer they made to 416c while the prime grown heifers made to 390c/kg. Cows were 15 to 20c cheaper 2 and 3 score cows to the processor made between 246c and 331c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows made from 340c to 369c to average 358ckg. Cows going back to the paddock made from 246c to 334c/kg. Bulls topped at 376c/kg.
