Yarding 5850 Change -1400

Numbers eased in Gunnedah this week to yard 5850 cattle. 1400 less then the previous week. It was a fair quality yarding with large numbers of cows presented. All major buyers were in attendance with steady competition on the cows while the top end of the feeder cattle were sought after.

Young cattle to the trade were limited in numbers and ranged from 420c to 454c/kg. Feeder steers held firm and ranged from 470c to 527c they averaged 500c/kg. Feeder Heifers also firm and made from 416c to 469c/kg. Young steers to the restocker were 15c cheaper they ranged between 410c and 544c to average 499c/kg. The heifers were 5c cheaper and ranged from 330c to 448c/kg

There were few grown steers and heifers to quote. Cows were significantly cheaper. Secondary cows were up to 25c cheaper. 2 and 3 score cows to the processor made from 302c to 366c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows also cheaper. They made from 358c to 380c/kg. Cows going back to the paddock made from 280c to 351c/kg.
