Yarding 1300 Change -800

1300 cattle were scanned in Gunnedah this week, 800 less then a week ago. It was a mixed quality yarding with limited numbers of prime cattle on offer. All major buyers were active for steady competition where feeder cattle were sought after while most other grades held firm or were slightly cheaper.

Prime yearling cattle to the trade made to 450c/kg. Yearling steers to feed over 400kg gained 15c to range between 500c and 619c/kg. Steers under 400kg were cheaper to make between 530c and 605c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed improved in quality and price to range between 548c and 579c/kg. Light steers to the restocker were up to 30c cheaper to make from 500c to 622c/kg. Light heifers to the restocker made from 486c to 551c/kg.

Prime grown cattle to the processor made from 410c to 454c/kg. 2 and 3 score cows to the processor held firm to make from 369c to 386c/kg. 4 score prime heavy weight cows lost 5c to make from 383c to 408c/kg. Cows going back to the paddock made from 310c to 398c/kg and the best bull topped at 405c/kg.
